In the face of the climate emergency and the harmful effects of globalization, learning to travel differently is becoming increasingly relevant and essential. We should not give up traveling, but rather approach it more thoughtfully—optimizing our relationship with the planet so we can continue to move, be amazed, and share experiences. Voyages Philibert aims to offer tourism that meets your desire for escape while protecting the resources of the countries you visit. Most human activities generate carbon emissions that contribute to climate change. Although traveling by coach helps reduce your carbon footprint—dividing it by three compared to a car—it is not zero, not to mention air travel used for long distances. The key challenge of carbon offsetting lies in balancing emissions released into the atmosphere on one side, and carbon sequestration on the other. Each of us can therefore help limit climate change by activating two levers: reducing our emissions by adopting new daily practices, and supporting the development of carbon “sinks,” such as forests. This is the approach we have chosen to offer you through our partnership with Stock CO2.
The fires of summer 2022 deeply marked our landscapes. At Voyages Philibert, we believe it's possible to explore the world while caring for the planet.

Le bois de Miou is a reforestation project located in Nouvelle Aquitaine, municipality of Laluque (Landes). Certified Label Bas-Carbone by the Ministry of Ecological Transition using the "REBOISEMENT" method, this project covers 23.08 hectares.
The carbon sequestration potential is estimated at 4,820 tonnes of CO₂ over the project's lifetime, an intensity of 208.8 tCO₂ per hectare.
28,854 trees were planted, comprising 1 different species at a density of 1,250 trees per hectare. This species diversity strengthens the ecosystem's resilience to climate risks and promotes local biodiversity.
Voyages Philibert funds 4% of this project, equivalent to 193 tonnes of CO₂, 1,155 trees and 9,242 m² (0.92 ha).
Beyond carbon sequestration, each project generates measurable positive impacts on the environment and local communities.
This project sequesters 208.8 tCO₂/ha over its lifetime. Carbon is captured in biomass and soils. This is the primary impact: contributing to climate change mitigation.
With 1 different species (low diversity), this project creates a rich habitat for wildlife. Ecological corridors promote pollination and biological control.
Over 23.08 ha, vegetation filters water, reduces runoff and erosion, and promotes groundwater recharge.
With 1250 trees/ha, the root system structures the soil. Litter enriches organic matter and increases water retention.
This 23.08 ha project in Laluque supports the local economy: direct jobs, territory enhancement and ecological transition.

Project notification
The project owner submits their application to the ministry.
Field audit
An independent auditor verifies the project data on site.
Labelling
The project is validated and receives the official Low-Carbon Label.
Monitoring
Regular monitoring of project progress and carbon indicators.
Credit certification
Emission reductions are verified and carbon credits are issued.
The Low-Carbon Label is an official certification framework from the French Ministry of Ecological Transition. It guarantees that emission reductions are real, measurable, verifiable and additional.
How it works:
1. The project owner submits a file describing the reference and project scenarios.
2. The difference gives net emission reductions in CO₂ equivalent.
3. An independent auditor verifies the data in the field.
4. The ministry issues the Label and carbon credits are issued.
5. The project is monitored with periodic verifications.
Species diversity strengthens forest resilience against diseases and climate change.

Pinus pinaster · Pinaceae
Espèce emblématique du massif landais, il peut atteindre 30 m. Son bois est utilisé en papeterie et construction. Il a été massivement planté au XIXe siècle pour fixer les dunes.
